Driver Shot, Killed In Central Jersey

Authorities in Central Jersey confirmed a fatal shooting on Monday.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department said that at about 4:35 p.m. police responded to Handy Street and Paul Robeson Boulevard and found a man who was shot driving his vehicle. 

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Ciccone and Caputo said. 

The victim's name has not been released, nor has a motive for the shooting.

The investigation is active and continuing.

A video report from the shooting scene, where several cars also had collided, was posted on Facebook here by New Brunswick Today. 

It marked at least the third daytime shooting in New Brunswick during the past month.
